ALANA LOWE is a film/video/ event producer and photographer based in the SF Bay Area. As a producer, Alana specializes in organizing many moving parts, making her a talented producer in event and film/video production. Alana has produced non-scripted TV and documentary shows for History Channel, National Geographic Channel, Food Network and Discovery Channel, among others. She directs, produces and edits commercial, infomercial and documentary works. On the side, Alana produces and edits content for her blog, Cooking by Heart (cookingbyheart.org), which documents and honors cooking traditions that she feels must be preserved for future generations.
From 2004-2007, Alana co-produced the San Francisco Theater Festival. She then went on to New York City where she coordinated screenings for the 2007 TriBeCa Film Festival.
Alana received her BA at University of Michigan (Major: American Culture - Race and Ethnicity Track, Minor: Cultural Anthropology), with a focus on oral history, storytelling and preservation.
