ALANA LOWE is a producer and photographer based in New York City. As a producer specializing in non-scripted TV and documentary, Alana has worked on many series over the past several years. On the side, Alana is producing and editing a series called Cooking by Heart (cookingbyheart.wordpress.com), which documents and honors cooking traditions from our elders, that she strongly feels must be preserved for future generations. She also produces cooking demos and shoots food & event photography for the blog ABCD's of Cooking.

Alana cast, produced segments in the field and shot production stills for the History Channel docu-reality series, Swamp People, which documents traditions and lifestyle in southern Louisiana during the alligator-hunting season. She has also produced shows for National Geographic and the Discovery Channel.

Alana received her BA at University of Michigan (Major: American Culture - Race and Ethnicity Track, Minor: Cultural Anthropology), with a focus on oral history, storytelling and preservation.
